PE Backing Rod
- Polyethylene (PE) closed-cell foam backing rod
- Designed to control the depth of sealants in joints, ensuring that the sealant is applied at the correct width-to-depth ratio for maximum adhesion, flexibility, and longevity (typically a 2:1 width-to-depth ratio)
- Bond breaker to prevent the sealant from adhering to the bottom of the joint, ensuring it only adheres to the two joint faces
- Excellent recovery from compression, ensuring it maintains tension against the joint sides
- Excellent service temperature performance up to +70°C (constant service)
- Available in 6, 13, and 20mm diameters
- Highly resistant to most common chemicals and solvents encountered in construction
- Contains no CFC or HCFC components with low VOC emissions
